welcome to my blog
Today is Friday morning. I had a stroke at home on March 3 and entered the ER in the morning, approximately 7am. I was discharged from Lakeview Regional Hospital on March 7.
My disabilities are: Aphasia; speech pauses, problems having certain words to complete sentences, momentary lapses, and spelling deficits. I have more successes when I slow down. I am also having severe problems with reading: spelling each word individually ( very slow), problem with comprehending, not having the right words or letters. I find that I am confusing pronouns: he and she, and genders in general. The joy of reading is gone.
Physically I am fine. I am strong, balanced, have stamina, do not fatigue, sleep well.
Occupationally I am fine: can follow commands, cook, clean, garden – weeding, shoveling… Command of the iphone, computer, printer, can follow emails, forwards, reply.
I am trying to have a positive attitude and to make each day a good day.
